ABOUT HALEY'S RIGHTS
"Haley's Rights" was developed in hope of making an impact on children's rights. Formed as a watchdog group in the criminal court, we endeavor to insure the laws in place are enforced when there is a crime against a child, because "the system" doesn't always work. This is achieved through monitoring cases in the criminal courts. If we find cases that aren't handled in the appropriate manner, we alert the public and appropriate government agency.
Children don't seem to have any rights. Animals seem to have more laws to protect them, than children today. It never ceases to amaze me what goes on in our society. What happened to common sense? Common sense, should be called uncommon sense. Why are child molesters often given light sentences, if any at all? Mental abuse can change the entire life of a child, yet is hardly ever addressed. Children have the most incredible ability to learn. Do Adults?
Whether it's child abuse or neglect, there must be accountability in order to protect the future of our children. They are the future of The United States of America. When a child is born, everything is new to them. They rely on us as adults to teach, raise and protect them. When you look at children, you are actually gazing into the eyes of future parents, teachers, senators...even our next president. Shouldn't we treat them as such? Children are the most innocent and vulnerable victims. Our crimes against children page, clearing demonstrates the lack of priority given to these crimes in our society at present. We are asking prosecutors, throughout the nation, to have a zero tolerance on crimes against children.
